PHYLLIS MARGARET PALSSON The family is saddened to announce the passing of Phyllis Margaret Palsson (nee Herbert) peacefully, with her daughters at her side, at the Elizabeth M. Crowe Hospital in Eriksdale, MB on June 12, 2002. Phyllis was born on October 17, 1913 in Stonewall, MB and grew up the fourth of 11 children of Andrew and Annie Herbert. She married Jack Roberts and moved to Markland, MB where they were blessed with two sets of twin girls, Phyllis pride and joy! After Jacks tragic death, Phyllis moved to Lundar with her four small daughters. In 1946, Phyllis married Kari Palsson and the family moved to Burnt Lake. They farmed there until 1956 then moved to Lundar where they lived for many years. In 1994, Phyllis moved to Glencora Estates in Ashern, then the Lundar Personal Care Home in April of 2001. Phyllis was always actively involved in the community. She belonged to many groups including the Lundar Drama Club and the Lundar Agricultural Society. She was an avid hunter and loved to garden, taking great pride and pleasure in her yard. Phyllis always had the door open and the coffeepot on for many, many visitors over the years. Phyllis greatest love was her family. She leaves to mourn, her daughters, Beverly (Bob) Brasted, Shirley (Gudmundur) Jonsson, Joan (Siggi) Emilson and June Eyford; 12 grand-children; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Palsson, Dorothy Scoival and Marion Bowman; numerous extended family members of the Roberts and Palsson families as well as nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17 in the Lundar Lutheran Church with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Interment to follow in the Lundar Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Phyllis eight grandsons, Jack Peterson, Thor Jonsson, Brian Eyford, Ken Peterson, Wayne Peterson, Garry Eyford, Lyle Sigfusson and Brent Peterson. Special thanks to Dr. Stein, Dr. Burnet and the caring staffs at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital and the Lundar Personal Care Home. Also to Pastor Terry and all the visitors who came to brighten Phyllis day, and to Glen and John of Arnason Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lundar Personal Care Home Guild, Lundar, MB or to the CancerCare Foundation of Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248 Stn. Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
