MARIA DOS ANJOS DE SOUSA After a brief battle with cancer, on June 13, 2002, at the Grace General Hospital, Maria dos Anjos de Sousa passed away at the age of 76 years. Left to cherish her loving memory are, husband Pedro; sons, Luis (Maria), Larry (Gabriela), Duarte (Fatima), Paul (Maria) grandchildren, Nelia (Nole), Jennifer, Denise, Amanda, Brian, Tanya, Rebecca; sisters, Aldina and Inez; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Maria was predeceased by her parents, Maria da Conceicao and Manuel Joaquim; sisters, Maria, Idalina and Belmira; and brothers, Manuel, Jose and Joao. Maria was born on November 28, 1925 in Sao Vicente Ferreira, Sao Miguel, Acores, Portugal. She immigrated to Winnipeg in November 1966. We, the family would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospital for all their care and support and we also express sincere thanks to all family and friends, who were there for us during this difficult time. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, June 18, at 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 19, at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Rev. Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros officiating. Entombment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marias memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
