Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERDA RUTH HOLT Peacefully, on June 13, 2002, at Misericordia Place, Gerda Ruth Holt passed away. Gerda is survived by her children, Richard (Vicky) of St. Marys, ON, Anne Braunton of Exeter, England and Jane Ferch (Howard) of Winnipeg; seven grandchildren, Will and Thomas Holt, Rachael and Vikki Braunton and Laura, Justin and Tessa Ferch; her stepson Bill (Joan) of Edmonton; and Bills son Greg (Nora). She was the youngest daughter of the late Gottfrid and Laura Larsson. Gerda was predeceased by her husband Leonard; her parents; and her brothers, Oscar and Cedric. She attended the McDonald Institute of Guelph from 1939-1940 and graduated with a BSC from the University of Toronto in 1943. Gerda served as a Lieutenant with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps. from 1943 to 1947. In 1947 she married Leonard Holt and they moved to Winnipeg a few years later. In the 1960s she resumed her career, first as a dietitian at HSC and later with Meals on Wheels. After her retirement she volunteered for Meals on Wheels until Lens health failed. She loved her home and her garden. She also enjoyed walks in all weather. Most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 18, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Pauls Anglican Church, 830 North Dr., Winnipeg, MB. Flowers gratefully declined.
