NELLIE MacIVER (nee TODOSIEV) It is with deep sadness I tell, with me at her side, of the peaceful passing of my cherished and beloved mother, Nellie MacIver, at Lodge 7 East, Deer Lodge Centre at 6:00 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2002. She is survived by and will always be remembered by her loving daughter Murdina Jessie, and her friend and companion Marie Clow who over the years became a second daughter. She is also survived by nieces, Katie, Anne and Olga and families of Alberta, Phyllis and Anne and family of Ontario; nephew Mereslaw of Saskatchewan, Kay MacDonald and family of Winnipeg; and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers and one sister. Mom was born in Rossburn, MB, the daughter of Onufrey and Xsenia Todosiev, who immigrated to Canada in 1899. At age 21, Mom moved to Winnipeg and worked until she met her soulmate from Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland, Murdo MacIver, who predeceased her on November 9, 1955. There is much to tell about my mother but in brief. Mom was a hard working lady with many self taught talents, among them cooking and dressmaking skills. A very sweet, gentle, loving and caring person. She was to me the worlds best mother and will be greatly missed. God gave me the very best. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 18 between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 19 at 1:00 p.m., also in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at 2 South and Lodge 7 East at Deer Lodge Centre for their care and kindness shown to my mother during her time there.
