Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH WATSON (nee NYSTROM) 1912 - 2002 Peacefully on June 13, 2002 in Riverview Health Centre, Edith left us to be with her mother Ovida, father Jon, daughter Maureen, her brother Henry and sisters Gladys and Elsie. She will be lovingly remembered by her son-in-law Lloyd Ditchfield, grandchildren, Kelly (Gerard) Dupe, Gregg Ditchfield, Glenn (Dawn) Ditchfield. Great-grandchildren, Miguel, Natia, Erik Dube, Trevor, Cory, Ryan Ditchfield, Joel and Brant Ditchfield. Sister Mildred (Jack) of Thunder Bay, brother-in-law Alfred of Winnipeg, and sister-in-law Terry of Brandon, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Edith was raised in Mulvihill, MB. It was a time and a place she loved and spoke of often with fondness and warm memories. She moved to Winnipeg. In 1940 her daughter Maureen was born. Edith went to work as a housekeeper for the Honourable Judge Dennistoure. She later worked for Spirrella Corporation; T Eaton Company and again housekeeping for Lt. Governor General of MB (McDermit). In 1958 she went to work for Department of Defense until her retirement. Edith, also known as "Bird" by loved ones enjoyed life to the fullest. She was always there to help and support family and friends. She loved to travel, play cards and get together with family and friends. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the devoted staff at Riverview Health Centre and special friend Frankie. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 18, 3:30 p.m. at Riverview Health Centre Chapel 1 Morley St. A private family interment will take place in Mulvihill at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
