BERNARD "BARNEY" W. ROWE With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband and uncle, Barney Rowe, on June 12, 2002 at the Kildonan Personal Care Home, at the age of 91 years. Barneys memory will be forever cherished by his wife Alice of 59 years; niece Pennie (Bill) Zacharko of Denver, CO; nephews, Craig (Candice) Erskine of Nevada, and Russell (Carol) Erskine of Winnipeg; very special great-nephew Chris (Carol-Ann) Zacharko; very special great-niece Allyson Zacharko; and numerous other great-nieces, great-nephews, family and friends. Barney was predeceased by his parents, four brothers and one sister. Barney gave 34 years of exemplary service to the Winnipeg Fire Department where he retired in 1976 with the rank of District Chief. He devoted his retirement years to his loving wife Alice, gardening and travelling. His smile and great sense of humour will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Thank you to the caring staff of Kildonan Personal Care Home, especially Pat, Marlene and Jennifer, and all of the second floor staff for their kindness and compassion. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., with Fire Department Chaplain, Captain Mark Young, officiating.
