DANIEL (ANDY) ANDREWS We are sad to announce the death of our husband, father and grandfather, Andy, at the age of 82, on June 15, 2002, at the Riverview Health Centre. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary; daughter Peggy and husband Ken of Winnipeg (Rob and Jen) and son Bob and wife Ann of Surrey, United Kingdom (Chloe and husband Rupert, Christopher and Kathryn). He was predeceased by his parents, Sam and Mary, and brothers, Bill and Tom. Andy was born in Kamsack, SK, on November 12, 1919, and moved to Winnipeg in 1940. He met and married Mary in 1945 and soon after joined Winnipeg Transit, first as a driver and later as a timekeeper. He happily retired in 1983 to fully pursue his many interests: grandchildren, travel, dancing, gardening, golf, coin collecting, playing bridge, and enjoying the company of many, many, close friends. Andy was a member of Red River Masonic Lodge No. 172 and the Shrine Khartum Temple, Drum and Bugle Corps. The family would especially like to thank the circle of close friends who showed unwavering support and friendship over the last 18 months following Andys debilitating stroke, as well as the health care workers at the Victoria General Hospitals MRU, Home Care, and the Palliative Care Team at the Riverview Health Centre. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, friends may send donations in Andys memory to the Palliative Care Unit, Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 9Z9. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street, with Rev. Ron Long officiating.
