Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJON JOHANN (JOHN) EINARSON Peacefully with his family by his side, Jon Johann Einarson (John J.) of Grand Rapids entered eternal rest, Friday, June 14, 2002 at St. Anthonys Hospital, The Pas, aged 72 years. Jon was born Monday, August 5, 1929 in Bifrost Municipality near Hnausa, MB, where he was raised. Growing up he worked on the family farm. At the age of 13 Jon began his career as a commercial fisherman and spent the next 50 years fishing Lake Winnipeg. He enjoyed the lake and revelled in its trials and tribulations. Dad made a good living working as a fisherman however he stressed the importance of a good education to his children. Dad was instrumental in seeing that his children achieved this goal. He was a hard worker and a dedicated father and Afi. Jon was united in marriage to Jennie McKay, Saturday, April 28, 1956 at Gimli, MB. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Mabel (Sheldon Wall), Joann (Alfred Huff), Doreen (Ken Pittman), Wayne, and Wanda (John Sinclair) grandchildren, Louisa, Chantal, Kirk, Jenny, Leah, Brendan, Amy, Monique, Erik, and Larissa; sister Stefania Swain; sisters-in-law, Ellen Einarson, Rubina McKay, Evelyn (Eigill) Johnson, Agnes McKay, Lillian McKay, and Steinunn Einarson; and numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by his wife Jennie (1983), parents, Johann and Mabel; brothers, Sibjorn, Kari, and Stefan; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2:00 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Doug Highway presiding. Interment will take place in St. James Cemetery, Grand Rapids. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy Johnson, Bruce Ballantyne, Wallace Johnson, Gunnar Einarson, Buddy (Kari) Einarson, and Bill Beardy. If friends so desire, donations made to St. James Anglican Church, Grand Rapids, would be appreciated by Jons family. Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas in care of arrangements. 623-3261
