Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNIE EVELYN MACDONALD October 23, 1909 - June 11, 2002 Evelyn MacDonald passed away peacefully on June 11, 2002 at the age of 92 with family at her side at the Minnedosa Hospital. She was born October 23, 1909 in Franklin, MB, the only child of Richard and Annie White. She attended school in Edna and Franklin and went on to achieve her Bachelor of Arts at United College in Winnipeg (University of Winnipeg) in 1932. In 1935, she married Walter MacDonald of Minnedosa. Together they farmed at Franklin and were blessed with two children. Evelyn was an active member of UCW (Franklin and Minnedosa) and Hospital Aid. She enjoyed curling, bowling and gardening. In her later years, she joined the staff at Rolling River School Division office, retiring at age 65. Several years later, Evelyn moved from the farm to Minnedosa Kin Court then to the Townview Manor. Evelyn had an adventuresome spirit having loved to travel with friends and family. She was an avid reader and was passionate about her Toronto Blue Jays and her politics. In 1999 she was honoured with Lifetime Membership from the PC Party of Manitoba. She enjoyed her crafts, the outdoors and maintained a very active lifestyle. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Walter, mother Annie, father Richard and great grandson Brayden. Left to cherish her memory are son Richard (Verla) MacDonald of Minnedosa and daughter Micki (Mel) McGregor of Brandon; grandchildren, Jeff MacDonald, Donna (Doug) Glasgow, Stacey (Mike) Corrigan, and Craig (Karen) MacDonald; and great-grandchildren, Sydnee and Morgan Glasgow, Breanne and Marissa Corrigan and Rees and Zane MacDonald. We will all miss her friendship very much. A memorial service will be held June 18 at 2:00 p.m. Minnedosa United Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westman Dreams for Kids Foundation - 1435 Princess Ave., Brandon, MB, R7A 0R6.
