RODERICK ANDREW MacKENZIE On June 15, 2002, Rod passed away. His indomitable spirit will always be with us and he will remain an integral and dynamic part of our lives forever. Rods easy going personality; his wicked sense of humour and sharp wit endeared him to people of all ages, all over the world. His self-confidence and natural charm created the magical ingredients to his success in all his endeavours. Doors opened, Rod responded and opportunities abounded. He deserved all of them. He was an angel. One of the highlights of his life was his trip overseas as a business exchange student at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia and his subsequent travels around the world, discovering new horizons and visiting his numerous international friends. Rod received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001 and he died at the conclusion of his business studies. He will be posthumously awarded a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba at the Fall convocation. To his entire family, he was a favourite son and brother, grandson, nephew and cousin. Rod leaves to mourn his devoted father Dr. Roderick MacKenzie and wife Linda, of Medicine Hat; his very loving mother Maryel Andison and James Clarke, of Winnipeg; his brothers, Scott and John, and Bryan; and his favourite adoring sister Karen; his grandfather Roderick MacKenzie of Winnipeg; his uncles, Charlie Andison of Vancouver, Richard Andison (Nancy) of Winnipeg, and Ken MacKenzie (Donna) of Belleville, ON; his aunts, Margie Beattie (Gord) and Judy McDiarmid (John) of Vancouver, Heather MacKenzie (Bill Lust) of Calgary, and Mary Jean Rigg of Winnipeg; as well as many cousins and a large extended family. The family is deeply indebted to Dr. Mark Young, Drs. H. and L. da Silva, Dr. D. Fewer, Dr. S. Kolowski and the dedicated staff - Susan, Jackie, Sandra, Cheryl and Kami - of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Health Sciences Centre. A private interment is planned. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, June 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 1223 Wellington Cres., Winnipeg. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 at Pattison Family Funeral Home, 540 South Railway Street SE, Medicine Hat, AB. Flowers are gratefully declined. Charitable donations can be directed to the Roderick Andrew MacKenzie Fund, in care of the D.
