PETER D. ELIAS Peacefully on Monday, June 17, 2002 at the Carman Memorial Hospital, in Carman, MB, Peter D. Elias, aged 88 years, beloved husband of the late Edith G. Elias passed away. Peter was born on June 14, 1914 in Morse, SK, moving to Roland and later to Carman. He was a well-known businessman in the Carman area. Along with brother-in-law Earl Cutting, Peter operated Elias Lumber Yard until his retirement in 1963. Peter is survived by sons, Bob (Valerie) and Jim; daughter Karla (Cliff) grandchildren, Christine, Dianne (Scott), Edith, David (Whitney), Alana (Darcy) and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Annie Cutting and Mary Frank; and numerous nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Edith in 1989, brother John and sister Evelyn. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 20, at Doyles Funeral Chapel in Carman, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Catherine Waldie officiating. A private family interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. Reception to follow interment in Doyles Funeral Chapel. A special thanks to Drs. Duprat and Clayden and the nurses, particularly Darlene Swain and Home Care co-ordinator Valdene and her staff for their understanding and care.
