Offer Condolences or MemoryDORA (DOMNA) BUDZINSKI (nee MARCHUK) May 17, 1901 - June 21, 2002 Dora (Domna) Budzinski (nee Marchuk) was born in Insinger, SK, May 17, 1901. She was the last surviving member of 11 Marchuk children born to Lewonky Marchuk and Anastasia Lapaschuk, Ukrainian immigrants from Kiev, Ukraine. She was married February 25, 1919 to George Budzinski also from Insinger area. They homesteaded in Insinger until 1941, then moved to Elphinstone, MB where they farmed until 1949, then moved to Oak Lake, MB and farmed until 1955. From there they moved to Binscarth, MB and farmed until Georges death in 1964. Dora then moved to Brandon where she lived until moving to Winnipeg in 1983. She resided in Winnipeg until her death on June 21, 2002. She was predeceased by her husband George of 45 years in 1964; son William in 1970; daughters, Mary Bodnarchuk in 1996 and Nettie Godenir in 2002. Also granddaughter Charlene Bodnarchuk in 1960 and great-grandson Bobby Henson in 1992. She is survived by daughters, Kay Budzinski of Winnipeg and Elsie Witteveen of St. Marys, ON; and one daughter-in-law Mary Budzinski of Winnipeg. There are also 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Prayers will be held on Thursday, June 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Very Rev. Fr. Henry Lakusta of the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral will preside over the services. A luncheon will be served following the services at the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
