GERALD CHARLES BETTINSON February 16, 1927 - June 17, 2002 After spending Fathers Day with his two daughters, Gerry passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at St. Boniface General Hospital. Gerry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years Chris; his daughter Donna from Winnipeg; his daughter Jan, son-in-law Dan and grandchildren, Adam and Danielle Blanchard of Victoria, BC. Gerry will also be fondly remembered by niece Lynne and her husband Roger Palser. Gerry is survived by his brother Richard (Inez) of Toronto; Marjorie of Pelly, SK; and Lorna of Canberra, Australia. He was predeceased by brother Frank and sister Barbara. Gerry spent an active 18 years of retirement. Gerry was secretary of his curling group and an avid golfer. When Chris could get him off of the golf course or the curling rink they spent many winters cruising and travelling. The twice yearly three province golf tournament with his beloved nephews was a highlight for Gerry. A celebration of Gerrys life will be held on Friday, June 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Gerry will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and all who knew him as "one of the good guys".
