Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAC Q. FRIESEN 1910 - 2002 After a brief three month separation, Dad and Mom are together again. They have joined their son Reg, of whom they were so very proud. He passed away in 1998. Dad did not wake up from his sleep on the morning of June 18, 2002, at the St. Boniface Hospital. He is survived by his daughter Carol Parent; his grandchildren, Michelle (Peter Goodson), Daniel (Maggie), Marcel (Harmony) great-grandchildren, Gari and Taylor Goodson, Rachel and Benjamin Parent, Shaun and Rowan Parent. He is also survived by his brother Gordon (Anne) of Calgary; and his sister Mathilda (Paul) Buhr of Winnipeg. He grew up in Steinbach but spent most of his working years in Ste. Anne. He helped build the original Trans Canada Highway in Manitoba. Later he owned and operated the Ste. Anne Service Station. He became very well known for his generosity and tireless effort in serving people of the town and surrounding areas. His countless trips on cold winter nights to deliver fuel or pull someone out of the ditch will be remembered by many. He retired in 1973 and moved to Winnipeg in 1985. He curled, he fished, worked in the yard and spent hours sitting there with Mom watching and listening to the birds. Later he bowled, hooked rugs and worked on plastic canvas, giving his work generously to others. He rarely walked out of the apartment without hearing someone call out "Jac, remember me?" This please him very much! Thank you to all who cared for him on 6 A MED. That "cute" little man appreciated all you did for him. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 21 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Reception will follow the service and interment will follow at the St. Vital Cemetery.
