PHYLLIS M. COCKERILL R.N. With sadness the family of Phyllis announces her passing June 15, 2002, in Tampa, FL (formerly of Gunton). Born in Teulon, MB, March 14, 1923. Phyllis is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by her sister Mrs. Velma McCulloch; brothers, Claude (Ruth) of Selkirk, MB, Claire (Elaine) of Sanford, MB; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Violet and Frank Cockerill; her sister Mrs. Violet Raymond; and her very dear friend Mr. Thomas Craig. After serving in the CWAC in the Second World War, Phyllis enrolled at the Misericordia School of Nursing, graduating in 1950. A post graduate course in Surgical Nursing was completed in Chicago, IL. Relocating to Tampa in 1953, Phyllis spent 33 years of dedicated service at the Tampa General Hospital, retiring in 1986. Phyllis and Tom loved to travel, especially to visit family and friends in Canada. According to Phylliss wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family interment of ashes will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Phylliss memory to a charity of your choice.
