FREDA GRACE WHITE October 6, 1912 - May 16, 2002 Do not weep that I have died, Rejoice instead that I have lived. On May 16, 2002, in her 89th year, our mother quietly went into her final sleep. Left with many memories are her sons, Donald and his wife Sylvia of Lamont, AB, Clifford and his wife Audrey of Oromocto, NB. She has gone to join her husband Arthur, brother Freddy, and sister Alma, all beloved. She leaves to cherish her memories, her sisters, Audrey of Scarborough, ON and Daphne of Florida, U.S.A.; and sister-in-law Lily of Burlington, ON; and her grandchildren, Shannon (Dave) Swerdan of Chipman, AB, Lisa (Neill) Pearson of Fort McMurray, AB, Duane (Shannon) White of Leduc, AB, Lana (Doug) Walker of Brookings, OR, U.S.A., Steven of London, ON, Darren of Oromocto, NB; also her great-grandchildren, Melanie, Lesley, Shaun, Heather, Tyler, Ethan, Tracy, Ashley and Drew; and great-great-grandson Conner. Freda was born in Margate, England and came to Canada at the age of 16 with her parents and four younger siblings. In 1930, she married Arthur and worked on farms until the outbreak of the Second World War, when Arthur joined the Army and spent six years overseas while she raised two sons and found time to work at an ammunition plant in Toronto, ON. After the war, they farmed for 10 years at Souris, MB. They then moved to Winnipeg, where she secured employment for 22 years with the Federal Public Service. She was a perfectionist and gave her best for everyone. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial was held at Lamont United Church, as was a graveside service at Brookside Cemetery, Military Section, Winnipeg, MB where she found her final resting place with her husband - TOGETHER AT LAST. We thank the Alzheimer Society of Edmonton who helped us get through the various stages of this illness. We also extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Lamont Auxiliary Hospital staff who provided excellent service and for doing the extra acts of kindness in making Moms life as comfortable as possible. Your caring and kindness will not be forgotten. Park Memorial Ltd. Funeral Administrators and Directors (Lamont), 1-780-895-2157.
