Bartel, aged 67 years, of Morris, beloved husband of Lillie (nee Loewen), passed away on Saturday June 22, 2002 at his residence. Besides his dear wife he leaves to mourn his passing his children, Marcella and Abe Kornelsen of Steinbach, Clarene and Allan Nernberg of Sabetha, KS, Chester and Ruth, Lynnford and Betty, Arletta and James Boulton, and Gaylene and Leighton Siemens, all of Morris; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; as well as three sisters, two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret (Doerksen) Bartel; his son Dudley in 1995, and granddaughter Felina Kornelsen in 1985. The funeral service will be held at the Rosenort Evangelical Mennonite Church on Wednesday June 26 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in the Rosenort Cemetery. There will be a Devotional Service and viewing at the church on Tuesday beginning at 7:30 p.m. Should friends so desire, donations in Georges memory may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Dr., Winnipeg, MB, R3T 5K9 or the Rosenort EMC Building Fund, Box 153, Rosenort, MB, R0G 1W0.
