BARBARA ANNE PROKIPCHUK (nee YASCHESHYN) Suddenly, on June 22, 2002, at the age of 51, with her husband Gene at her side, Barb was called home by the angels. Barb was born on October 2, 1950 in Cartwright, MB. Barb spent most of her life in the West End of Winnipeg. She spent her working years with CARA food services and Winnipeg School Division Number 1. In her early years Barbs love of horses kept her in the country most of her free time. After meeting her future husband Gene, her time was spent enjoying his company. Barbs unique personality and perspective on life will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Barbara is survived by her husband Gene; parents, Frank and Lorraine Yascheshyn; mother-in-law Anne; brothers, Don (Betty), Brian (Debra), and Allan (Karen) sister-in-law Audrey (Raymond) Berard; brothers-in-law, Walter, Danny, Nick and Boris (Dorothy) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant sister Linda. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 26 at 2:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Honorary pallbearers are her special nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Zachary, Brandi, Patrick, Olivia and Katie. A private family interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. We wish to thank EMS of Winnipeg with special thanks to Chaplain Linda Sorokowitch and nurse Jan from H.S.C. for their kindness and compassion.
