Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHIE FRANCHUK (nee LESKIW) Peacefully, with her loved ones at her side, Stephie Franchuk entered into her eternal rest on Sunday, June 23, 2002 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Stephie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Henry of 51 years; sons, Alan (Faith), Don (Andrea), Dave (Jill), and Brian (Darcie), all of Winnipeg; cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren, Alanna and Janel, Sonja and Matthew, Greer and Drew, and Caylyn and Kendal. She is also survived by her brother Steve (Emily) Leskiw, sister-in-law Helen (Earl) Matheson, as well as nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Hnat and Xenia Leskiw. Stephie was born in Winnipeg on January 24, 1927 and was raised in Transcona. She was a homemaker, looking after her family, after which she worked as a postal clerk for Canada Post. We will never forget the loving, generous, hard-working, and caring person that she was. She would always make time for her family and was very proud of them all. Well always remember that big smile. Prayers will be said on Thursday, June 27 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Nicholas U.C. Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, June 28 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church. Basilian Father officiating. Interment Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank all the Home Care workers, especially Caroline and Rachel, and the nursing staff of 5U5 at Seven Oaks General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Manitoba Families for Effective Autism Treatment, 211 Campbell St., Winnipeg, MB R3N 1B4 or the charity of choice.
