MYRTLE GWEN WATTS (nee THORKELSSON) Peacefully at her home on June 23, 2002, Myrtle Watts passed away. Myrtle was born near Ashern, MB on June 9, 1923 and lived there until she moved to Winnipeg as a young adult. She worked as a receptionist at James Shaen Ltd. until her retirement. She was predeceased by her parents, Halldor and Gudrun; husband Ted; sister Helen; and brothers, Harold and Haukur. She is survived by her daughter Pam (Tom) Boomer; grandchildren, Mindy Corrigan (Neil), Tom Boomer; great-grandchildren, Patrick and Owen; sisters, Vi (Paulson) and Fae (Frohwerk) brothers, Edwin, Connie and Raymond. Myrtles greatest loves were her family, reading and current events. Special thanks to the Home Care Team, Nor West Health, and Willow Centre whose care was greatly appreciated. Her kind and gentle spirit will always be treasured. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy., with Diaconal Minister Anne Duncan officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Myrtles memory may be made to the West Broadway Community Ministry, 102-222 Furby St., or a charity of ones choice.
