Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE CHWALIBOGA (nee MICHALISHYN) It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Anne Chwaliboga on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 with family at her side at Holy Family Nursing Home. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Stephen; parents, Michael and Serafina Michalishyn; siblings, John, Peter, Paul, Mary, Katie and Julia. She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her devoted daughter Audrey and son-in-law Glenn D. Smith; sisters-in-law, Helen and Sally Michalishyn; numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. Born in Pine Ridge, MB on June 29, 1915 she grew up in Narol, MB. She married Stephen in May 1942. In her earlier years, she attended dressmaking school in Winnipeg and later worked for Jacob and Crawley until the birth of her daughter Audrey. Her enjoyment of creating and sewing for friends and family continued throughout her life and she was often called upon to lend her talents for various family events. Anne was a wonderful and loving mother who cherished her family unconditionally. She instilled in family members a love of religion, respect for her Ukrainian identity, a lifelong love of education and the importance of family. Annes love for her family was enormous which she treasured all throughout her life. She looked forward to family gatherings throughout the year, with numerous summer outings at the various beaches in Manitoba. She was always supportive of her various family members. As she was a tremendous cook, she delighted in cooking her soups, holubchi, perogies and paska for family and friends. Anne was also an avid gardener and enjoyed many long hours at her family home in her beautiful garden. Anne was a longtime member of St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church attending mass on a regular basis until she was forced to stop attending due to health reasons. She was an active participant in the church choir and UCWLC of the parish for many years. For the past few years, Anne resided at Holy Family Nursing Home, and the family would like to thank the staff of 2A and Sister Theresa of Pastoral Care for their love, care and support throughout her stay, and especially her final days. We would also like to thank Dr. Gorski for his dedicated years of care to Mom and to the staff of 3W and 3E at Concordia Hospital for their care during her brief stay. Prayers will be sung at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 27 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28 at St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave., with Rev. Boris Kyba officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Alzheimers Manitoba or Holy Family Nursing Home.
