DORIS VANDENBERGHE (nee SHEWCHUK) After a brief illness, it is with deep regret that we announce the death of Doris Vandenberghe on Monday, June 24, 2002, at the age of 83. Doris was born in West Kildonan to Steve and Eunice Shewchuk and after her marriage to George lived in Fort Garry and then on a mixed farm in St. Germain, P.O, MB, until her retirement. Doris was predeceased by her husband George; her brothers, Mike and Nick; her sister Eva; and her daughter-in-law Joanne. She is survived by her sister Alice; her sons, Douglas (Patricia) and Wayne; her grandchildren, Grant (Rosalie), Mark and Kent; and her great-grandchildren, Luke and Laura. Prayers for Doris will take place on Thursday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion St., for immediate family members. Funeral service will take place on Friday, June 28 at 10:00 a.m., also in The P. Coutu Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in St. Vital (Catholic) Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
