JONAS STEWART DOLL Sadly on June 25, 2002, at St. Boniface Hospital, Jonas Doll, at the age of 71, beloved husband, dad and afi, passed away surrounded by his family. Jonas leaves to mourn his beloved wife Dawne; his five children, Brian (Teresa), Keith, Allen (Tammy), David (Lisa), Sandra (Jim) Kosowan; his precious grand-children who were his pride and joy, Eric, Kristen, Stefanie, Sara, Kael, Jeremy, Christopher, Kylie, Jennifer, Crystal, Michelle and stepgrandchildren, Cayla, Chelsea and Brandy. Also left to mourn are his sister Maureen (Jim) White; sisters-in-law, Doreen Helgason and Carolyn (Herb) Liffman; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Jonas was predeceased by his infant daughter Barbara in 1956; his parents, Malvina in 1983 and Beggi in 1945; and brother Wesley in 1976. Jonas loved the water and enjoyed his career as a boat captain on Lake Winnipeg. He especially enjoyed the many years he spent on the Hecla Island ferry. Later he went on to navigate cruise ships on the Red River until his retirement. Prayers will be said on Friday (tonight) at 8:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 29 at 2:00 p.m., also in the chapel, with cremation to follow. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Howard Doll, Bradley and Brent White, Ron and Greg Helgason and Robert Teffaine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Stn. Main, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
