MARION HOFLEY Peacefully, on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at age 70, Marion passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital. Marion leaves to celebrate her life her brother John (Dolores) sister-in-law Dorothy; nieces, Kathryn, Barbara (Russ), and Jennifer; nephews, Randall (Kathy), Todd (Sitara), Richard (Sarah), and Eric (Hali) great-nephews, Justin, Jonathan, Zachary, Joshua, Simon, Marcus, and Brendan; and great-niece Breanna. She was predeceased by her brother Dean. Joining us in this celebration will be Marions countless friends. Born in Winnipeg on April 27, 1932, Marion, following graduation from East Kildonan Collegiate in 1949, worked for the CPR in Winnipeg and Montreal, the Manitoba Motor Vehicle Branch, and was one of the first employees of MPIC. She retired from MPIC in 1993. Marion loved being with her family and friends. She was a generous, warm, and caring person. Marion always was upbeat, seldom complained, and lived life to the fullest. We will never forget her laughs that filled a room. Travel, music, and the church were also important parts of her life. She travelled all over the world. Marion had a wonderful voice and often sang solos in her church and at weddings. She was also known to lead a few impromptu sing-alongs! Marion was a lifelong member of her church and served on the board for many years as well as teaching in the CGIT program. Many thanks to the dialysis staff at St. Boniface and Seven Oaks hospitals and most recently to Unit 5, 3rd Floor, Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held at Gordon-King Memorial United Church, 127 Cobourg, at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2. Everyone is welcome to join the family for the interment which will take place prior to the service at 11:30 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Marion requested that no one wear black. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
