Martha Marie Dorothea Werth (nee Freer) was born December 27, 1919 in the small German hamlet Kostorf. She spoke fondly of her youth, her loving parents, two sisters, and brother. Martha met our father Werner Werth shortly after the war and they were married December 22, 1946. In 1955 Martha and Werner immigrated to Canada along with their four children. They settled in Winnipeg and later became dairy farmers in Teulon. Life was not always easy, but the challenges were met with courage, determination and hard work. Our father passed away on May 1, 1988 and although lonely, Martha drew strength from her family and her close circle of friends. We, her family, will always be grateful for the friendship and devotion these beautiful people shared with her. In October of 1996 Martha moved to Winnipeg to be close to her daughters. She truly enjoyed these years. Martha loved the people that went before her and we, her children, take comfort in the belief that she is once again reunited with them. Many have danced this dance called LIFE, but none with her gentle grace. You will be forever in our hearts Mama. We love you, Your children Friends may call on Friday, June 28 at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 29 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Teulon, at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Barry Rasmussen will officiate, with interment to follow in Windsor Cemetery.
