Date of Passing: Jun 25, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORA BELLE DAFOE December 24, 1908 - June 25, 2002 Flora Dafoe passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on June 25, 2002, at the age of 93 years. Flora was predeceased by her husband Errick in February of 1987, her parents, four brothers, and two sisters. She leaves to mourn her loss her only daughter Claire Bell, son-in-law Kenneth, and granddaughter Allison, all of Brandon. She also leaves one sister and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by her good friend Gisele Burr, with whom she spent many happy hours. Flora was born in the family home in Wood Bay, MB, going to school in Wood Bay and Pilot Mound before attending business college in Winnipeg. She married Errick Dafoe in 1938, living and working in northern Alberta and various mining towns in the Bissett area before moving back to Winnipeg in 1950. Flora encouraged her daughter in all her endeavours and was very active in the Assiniboine Figure Skating Club, where Claire skated for many years. She welcomed all Claires friends in the family home where the cookie jar was always full of her wonderful baking. In 1988, Flora moved to the Granite House in North Kildonan where she lived independently, had many friends and was active in the social club, baking for teas, church services and neighbours. Floras greatest joy these past 18 years had been watching her granddaughter, Allison, grow into a lovely young lady and an accomplished violinist. Her major goal this past year was to be well enough to attend Allisons high school graduation, which she did on June 24 and thoroughly enjoyed. At Floras request, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a contribution may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
