KATHERINE HILDEBRAND 1908 - 2002 Passed away on June 30, 2002 at Victoria General Hospital, just three weeks short of her 94th birthday. Katherine was predeceased by her beloved husband Herman in 1992, and grandson Jerry in 1989. Katherine will be greatly missed by her three sons, Stan and Eldith, Harold and Ilda, Ed and Marilyn; her daughter Judy Leuzinger and George Matwichuk; son-in-law Glen Leuzinger; nine grandchildren, Laurie Lam and Larry Desrochers, Rick Hildebrand and Claire David, Catharine and Andrew Brandy, Dan Hildebrand, Debbie and John McFarlane, Sheri Schofield, Angela and Tim Langille, Tamara and Brett Patzer, Clinton Leuzinger; and eight great-grandchildren. Mom was born on July 20, 1908, grew up on a farm near Roland, MB, and married Dad on November 25, 1928. They spent most of their married life in Plum Coulee, MB, until 1965, when they moved to Winnipeg. Mom worked for a short while at the Winnipeg Winter Club, then the Fort Garry Legion, but her main focus was always her family. She was a fabulous cook and gardener, winning many prizes at the Winkler Fair for her sweet peas. Our thanks to the 4th floor nursing staff at Victoria General Hospital. Funeral will be held on Thursday, July 4, at 2:30 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) with a viewing one half hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Canad Inns, 1824 Pembina Hwy. in the Ambassador Room E.
