LILLIAN JANECZKO (nee RAWLUK) 1931 - 2002 Peacefully with family by her side, Lillian passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at the Womens Hospital, Health Sciences Centre. Born September 8, 1931 in Kenora, ON, to Michelina and Stefan Rawluk, she was raised on a dairy farm till the age of 19 when she met her husband Alex of 51 years. Residing on a farm near Libau, MB, and after raising her children, Lillian worked part-time for Rose Marie Catering and full-time at the Selkirk Mental Hospital; she retired in 1996, after 21 years of service. Lillian is survived by her loving husband Alex; her children, Peter, Dennis (Susan), Dianne (Rupert Schilling), Carol (Terry Demkiw), Josie (Yunus Lubega) eight grandchildren, Karlene and Matthew Demkiw, Nicole and Christopher Schilling, Candice and Scott Janeczko, Shareefah and Sophia Lubega. She is also survived by her brother Paul (Helen), sister Josie (Erv Schweiger), brother Tony (Ida). She was predeceased by her sister Helen (1958), father Stefan (1980), brother Michael (1993), and mother Michelina (1994). Mom will be missed for her kindness, unselfish hardworking way and unconditional love. Her smile and sense of humour, even throughout her short illness, will provide a constant source of comfort. Devoted wife, mom, and baba, she will be remembered for her passions: travelling with her husband and children, cooking and baking for 5 to 500 people, canning fruits and vegetables, gardening, and providing never-ending love for her husband, children, family and friends. Moms grandchildren gave her the greatest joy! You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are grey You always knew dear how much we loved you... Pallbearers will be her grandson Matthew Demkiw; nephews, Brian Janeczko, Carl Janeczko, Allen Rawluk, Ronald Rawluk; and son-in-law Rupert Schilling. Honorary pallbearers, sons-in-law, Terry Demkiw and Yunus Lubega. Special thanks to Dr. Antonenko and Dr. Hussain, Selkirk and District General Hospital, and Dr Lotocki, Womens Hospital 5th floor, Health Sciences Centre, and respective staff for their care and concern. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 (tonight), at the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB. Funeral Rites to be held on Friday, July 5 at 10:00 a.m., in the Polish National Catholic Church, Libau, MB, with Msgr. Fr. Wesley Cwieka officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice in Moms memory. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
