KATHLEEN REID (nee CHORNEY) October 8, 1925 - July 2, 2002 Our cherished mother and grandmother unexpectedly left us at the age of 76. The memory of her kindness, gentleness, unselfishness and unfailing generosity lingers in the hearts of her children, Stephen and Scott (Bonnie) grandchildren, Justin and Katie; longtime friend Orla; nephews, Ted and Ricky; sister-in-law Daisy and family. She was predeceased by her loving husband Stanley (April 3, 2002) parents; sisters, Phyllis and Dutchess; and brother George. Mom was born in Winnipeg and at a young age grew up working at her family run restaurant. She spent most of her married years with her family in North Kildonan, moving to Transcona in the last few years. At a young age she loved going to the movies with her cousin Billy and taking the train with her sisters and friends out to Grand Beach for the Saturday night dances. Mom celebrated her life with enthusiasm, and spent many years with Dad enjoying curling and raising their sons. She was a loving grandmother who lit up with joy whenever her "number 1" grandson Justin, and "beautiful Katie", entered the room. Her love surrounds us still and we are blessed for having shared our lives with her. You are our Sunshine A private family service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel.
