Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARION ROGERS (nee BALES) Peacefully, July 3, 2002, at her home, Concordia Place, Marion joined her beloved husband Alvin; two sons, Vernon and Barry and daughter-in-law Josie. She was 88 years young when she died. Marion was born in Douglas, ND on April 4, 1914. Her family worked their way north to Fannystelle, MB, finally settling in Transcona. Marion married Alvin in 1934. She worked for her sister Millie in Millies Beauty Salon. Marion and Alvin moved to a farm near Dugald where they raised their two sons. Marion was a devoted wife and mother. The family moved back to Transcona when the boys were teenagers. Many happy years were spent at the "camp" at Rice Lake, ON. Marion enjoyed watching her family grow, while participating in their lives. She loved to WIN at cards and play Yahtzee. Marion will be missed by her sister Evelyn Smith, daughter-in-law Valerie Rogers; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Margaret (Nathan, Jay, A.J.), Robert and Judy (Joel and Mitchell), Cheryl and Ray (Chelsey and Nicole), Gerry and Deborah (Graham, Alaina, Bennett, Ellora), Ken and Jennifer (Claire), Craig and Sandra (Evan), Shannon and Darryl (Jessica, Elizabeth, Teagan). She also leaves to mourn her three sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her friends, Dorothy, Anne, Louise and Bertha have many happy memories with Marion. A celebration of Marions life will be held at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. on Friday, July 5 at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Jeff Cook officiating. Interment at Transcona Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, if friends so wish, they may make memorial donations to the Manitoba Lung Association. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to all the staff of Concordia Place for their loving care of Marion. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
