HUGH ROBERT McCOMBS It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hugh Robert McCombs on July 3, 2002 at the Riverview Personal Care Home, at the age of 72 years. He will be sadly missed by his companion and best friend Doreen Walker. He is also survived by twin daughters, Cathy and Cory and their families; brothers and sisters, Jim (Eileen) Gaye, Marianne (Earl) Smisko, Heather (Gordon) Piermantier, Jenipher (Linden) Gilbart, Bill (Sheila) McCombs; stepmother Viola McCombs; sister-in-law Irene McCombs; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Christabelle McCombs; sister Marlene Kilpatrick; and brothers, Douglas and Jack McCombs. Hugh was born in Regina and spent his school years in Regina and Winnipeg. He did a lot of travelling and made a lot of friends which he liked to keep in touch with. He had a great sense of humour, often including his nieces and nephews in his little games. Hugh was a very caring man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 8 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Clements Churchyard, with Rev. Ann Manikel officiating. Viewing will be held 15 minutes prior to the service at the grave site. Pallbearers will be friends and family of Hughs. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be set up for his great-niece and nephew, Melissa and Dustin Wait in care of Branch of Nova Scotia Bank, 337 Main St., Selkirk, MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
