ERIC MERVYN GLASSFORD RILEY Tragically on Thursday, June 27, 2002 at the age of 83 years, Eric Riley fell asleep in death, with his children at his side, in Kamloops Hospital. Eric will be remembered for his strong convictions both in his private and spiritual life. He is survived by his three daughters, Rozanne Hardman, Sandra (Richard) Sanders, Susan (Wayne) DeMontmorency; and three sons, Ronald, Robert, and Graham (Carmelle) Riley; his sister Xenia Riley; and brother Chris; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews. Eric was predeceased by his wife Betty; his son John; and daughter Sharen (Dean) sons-in-law, Robert Hardman and Al Molner; also by his parents. Eric was born August 4, 1918 in Nottingham, England. He married Betty Charles, October 9, 1941 in Winnipeg. He was baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses May 24, 1951 and remained faithful until his death. They attended the Fort Rouge, Fort Garry, St. Vital and Transcona congregations of Winnipeg, as well as many others and raised their eight children in their faith. Eric was a very hard worker and started his secular job as a teenager at Dominion Bridge, then went to the C.N.R. where he became the shop foreman of work equipment until his retirement in 1975. He also worked evenings as a mechanic in his garage at home to support his large family. Eric was looking forward to seeing his beloved wife again on the paradise earth as John 5:28, 29 states. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit of the Kamloops Hospital for the exceptional care given to their father. They also want to thank Don Beard of the liaison committee of Jehovahs Witnesses in Kamloops for his constant guidance and support in this difficult situation as well as the friendly Congregation of Kamloops. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall Centre, 227 Lakewood Blvd. Richard Mann will officiate. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1501 Waverley Street 949-4860
