MAUREEN ANNE STANNARD 1946 - 2002 After a courageous struggle with cancer, Maureen (Moe) passed away with her loving family by her side at St. Boniface Hospital, on Thursday, July 4, 2002. Predeceased by her father Harry Stannard in 1998, Maureen leaves to cherish her memory; her mother Catherine (Kay) Stannard, sister Sharon Fisher, brother Harry Stannard (Brigitte), sister Susan Melchior (Doug), sister Cathy De Leeuw (David), and brother Art Stannard (Lynn). She also leaves nine nieces and nephews: Derek and Kara Stannard, Joey and Ryan Melchior, Alicia, Miranda and Demi De Leeuw, Luke and Adam Stannard and her very special Godmother Rosamond Muldoon. Maureen would have celebrated 25 years with George N. Jackson Ltd. She was a very loyal employee and spoke fondly of the strong friendships that she had made there. Maureen was a wonderful and loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She lived her life with grace, dignity, and courage and accepted her illness in the same manner. She left a gift of strength, hope and especially inspiration to all the people she met during her journey. Most importantly Maureen left her family with a strong and enduring assurance of not only her love for us, but also her infectious exuberance for life. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all the very special and wonderful people who helped Moe in her struggle with breast cancer: Seven Oaks Oncology, CancerCare Manitoba, Comfort and Home Care, and St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care. Maureen and her family were all touched by the compassion of the many angels on her journey. The family is grateful to the many friends who offered their support, prayers and love to all of us. We are truly blessed. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 9 at 10:00 a.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Maureen Stannard may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB., R3E 0V9 (designated to breast cancer). "On the wings of an Angel, may she find comfort there." Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
