FREEMAN JEFFREY SWAN (SHOOMIN) Suddenly on Friday, July 5, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre, Freeman Jeffrey Swan (Shoomin), aged 40 years of Lake Manitoba First Nation. Freeman is survived by his daughter Karen Swan of Winnipeg, MB, his aunt and uncle Angus and Evelyn Swan, who accepted him and called him their son when he was orphaned in 1963; his brothers, John (Susan), Dudley (Pam), Barry (Mary), Eric and Mike; his sisters, Andrea (Berry), Laura and Tina; eight nephews, two nieces, one great-nephew and one great-niece; his aunt Lillian Pelletier (Ralph) their children Wayne, Raymond (Shelly), Byron (Nancy), Duane (Vania), Vernon (Anne Marie), Nadine, Kim (Lloyd), and Melanie (Matthew) aunt Velma (Stanley) their children Calvin, Agnes and Doris; aunt Clara; her children, Elmer, Gary, Barbara, Marvin, Audrey, Harvey, Karen, Pauline, Leslie; uncles, Elzear, Walter, Stanley and Leslie; cousins Leonard, Kurt, Linda, Rita, Gordon, Garry, Howard, Lillian, Delma, Margaret and Rosemary. He was predeceased by his mother Doris on December 22, 1962; his grandparents, John and Agnes Swan; his wife Linda in 1994; his older brother Bruce in 1987; his brother Fred Spence; his aunts and uncles, Roderick and Flora, Walter and Elizabeth, Lawrence (Cheese), Alan, Johnny, Freeman, Clifford, John and Ida, Violet and Harvey; cousins Marlene, George, Bradley, David and Michael, Willy, Eileen and Arnold. Wake services will be held at the residence of Dudley Swan on the Lake Manitoba First Nation commencing Monday, July 8 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at 2:00 p.m., in St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church with Father Mario officiating. Interment to follow in the Lake Manitoba Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his close friends, buddies and other relatives too numerous to mention. Active pallbearers will be Preston Swan, Eric Swan, Earl Maytwayashing, Byron Swan, Christopher McLean and Elmer Maytwayashing. Rest in Peace Arrangements by: Arnason Funeral Homes Ltd.
