GUDRUN NANNA (RUNA) INGIMUNDSON (nee EINARSON) On July 7, 2002, at the Grace Hospital, Runa peacefully passed away in her 93rd year with her loving family at her side. She is survived by one son Bruce of Victoria, BC; and daughter Joanna of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Sharman (Nelson), Liisa, Sarah, Mary, Derek, Ryan, Graeme, Kara; and one great-grandchild Jamil. Also survived by one sister Constance Sigridur (Sigga) Benediktson; brothers-in-law, Stefan Stefanson and Sidney Bonser; sisters-in-law, Bina Ingimundson, Eunice Ingimundson, Gwen Ingimundson; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ingi in 1951; parents, Sigurdur Einarson and Maria Johannsdottir; brothers, Vilhjalmur Stefan (Willie), Einar Alex, Haraldur (Harry), Thoroddur Skafti (Doddi), Palmi, Stanley Sigurdur, Ingvar (Inggi) Kristjan (Kris), Karl Walter (Kalli) and sisters, Berthora (Begga), Gudbjorg Florence (Bogga), Oliva Svanhvit (Olla) and Adalheidur Maria (Heida). Runa was born in Gimli MB, in the Minerva District. She married Ingi on May 7, 1935, and resided in Winnipeg. She was outstanding as a seamstress and worked for Eatons in the Drapery Department until retirement. She was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church and an active member in the Ladies Aid Group. Runa was a kind and generous person who lived for her family and friends. Since 1985 she had lived in Betelstadur Seniors Residence enjoying her Bingo and Whist with her many friends there. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enriched the lives of all who knew her. The family would like to thank Dr. Bruce Campbell and the staff on 4 East at the Grace Hospital for their special and wonderful care. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, July 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor St. (at Sargent). Reception to follow at Betelstadur, 1061 Sargent Ave. (at Erin). A private family interment will be held Thursday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Brookside Cemetery. A donation may be made in her memory to the First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 1R2, or the Betelstadur Foundation of Winnipeg, in care of 1061 Sargent Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 3M6, if so desired.
