ANNE SAWA (nee KOROLCHUK) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Anne Sawa, aged 84 years, at her residence in Gimli on Saturday, July 6, 2002. Anne was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1973. She is survived by her sons, James, Gordon, Edwin (Liane) and daughter Ellwina Gowie (Gordon) her grandchildren, Leigh (Charlotte), Angela (Kevin), Rhonda (Joey), Bradley (Sigrid), Nicole, Tiffany, Daena, Dustin, Steven, and Ellyn; great-grandchildren, Brock, Taylor, Ainslee, and Abbey; sisters, Haffia, Jean (Peter) and Pat (Sam) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Anne was raised in Quill Lake, SK. She married Walter Sawa in 1939 and together raised their four children and spent most of their married life in Gimli. Anne enjoyed the 25 years she was employed at the Falcon Restaurant until retiring. She loved to watch hockey, to cook, and to work in her beautiful yard. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her fun loving nature has provided a legacy of happy memories for everyone who knew her. She will be missed. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, July 10 at 7:00 p.m., in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 11 at 10:30 a.m., in the St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Gimli, with Fr. Art Seaman officiating. Interment in the Gimli Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada, 400-141 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 0R3. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
