ADAM LEGA December 22, 1919 - July 9, 2002 Peacefully, in the presence of his loving family, Our Heavenly Father called his servant Adam to eternal rest on July 9, 2002. Adams memory will be cherished by his beloved wife Julia of 57 years and their children, Natalia (Leslie) Storozuk, Marika (Ken) Alyluia, Danny (Monica) Lega, Christina (Danny) Pona, Hannia-Kathy (George) Seidel and their families. Tato was born in the village of Czukva, Novaj Sambir, Ukraine on December 22, 1919. He married Julia in June of 1945 in Germany and they immigrated to his dearly beloved and respected adopted Canada in 1948, with their two eldest daughters, Natalia and Marika. The family settled in Winnipeg, where the Lord blessed them with three more children and then four sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law, 12 grandchildren, a granddaughter-in-law (Nicole Dornbush) and grandson-in-law (Michael Woloski), and three great-grandsons (Colton and Austin Woloski, and Justin Storozuk). Adam retired in 1985 after 36 years with the City of Winnipeg. He devoted his remaining years in the service of his parish as a priests assistant. He dearly loved God, his wife, family and friends. He loved nature and marvelled each day at her splender. He loved the wind at his back and the "sun on my face". Pallbearers (at Tatos request) are grandsons, Christopher, Marc and Thom Storozuk, Patrick Alyluia, Julian Pona and Joey Seidel. Alternate pallbearers are his granddaughters, Karen Woloski, Larissa and Alana Pona, Sophia and Veronica Lega, and Jenna Seidal. Panahyda will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12 at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Parish, 965 Boyd Ave. The Divine Liturgy (funeral) will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Parish. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Our very sincere gratitude to Fr. Oucharyk and Fr. Kouts, who visited Tato, and most specially Fr. Roland Lenois who anointed dad in the presence of his family. We also thank dads physicians, the nurses and palliative care at St. Boniface Hospital for their tender care. Please know that dad appreciated your kindness, love and dedication as much as we all did. God bless you all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Research Foundation or the Seminary in Ottawa, 1030 Baseline Rd., Ottawa, ON, K2C 0A6. Fly with the Angels. Walk with God. Pray for us. Be at peace. We love you Tato. Vichnaya PamYat KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0973
