HERBERT J. MERCER "BERT" Peacefully, on July 10, 2002 at the Grace Hospital, Herbert J. "Bert" Mercer died at the age of 86 years. Bert will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Leith Mercer, niece Carmen Mercer, Harold Willerton, and sister Bertha Twort and family in England. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Bert served with the R.A.F. in England, Carberry, MB, S.F.T.S. and Jui, West Africa. For many years Bert was employed with M.T.S. Leith and Bert enjoyed golfing with their special friends, and loved to travel, taking several trips to England and cruises. He also loved gardening. A service of remembrance will take place on Saturday, July 13 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Interment will take place at a later date in Bethel Cemetery, Treherne, MB.
