Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARION JOSIE BALES (nee QUALLY) May 30, 1912 - April 12, 2004 Peacefully, at West Park Manor Personal Care Home in Winnipeg at the age of 91 years. Marion is survived by sons, Vern (Lori) and Brian of Winnipeg; daughters, Bonnie Gasper (Fred) of Ashern, Merle Bloom (Richard) of Winnipeg; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Eunice Storey and Mabel Piper of Abbotsford, BC, Valetta Petterson (George) of Winnipeg; brother Stanley Qually (Norma) of Vancouver, BC; sister-in-law Mary Qually; and many nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by husband Vivan; mother Martha; father Billiam and Tillie; brother Douglas; and brothers-in-law, Gordon Storey and Arnold Piper. Marion, the eldest of six children, was born at her parents home in Dacotah, MB on May 30, 1912 where she resided most of her life. She was a mother, farm wife and she did part-time work away from home. Her main interests were cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting and she was an accomplished piano player. The family would like to thank home care providers Hilda Stoesz, Edith Bergen, Tammy Robertson, Shelia Froude and Isla Sauter. Thank you to her special friends Eva Pichurski and Mary Filsche who visited her regularly and most especially to the compassionate and caring staff of West Park Manor. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 17 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with Pastor Leon Gilbertson officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the West Park Manor Staff Fund, 3199 Grant Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3R 1X2 or a charity of ones choice.
