Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES (JIM) ALEXANDER DOTT Peacefully on July 10, 2002, Jim Dott, aged 91 years passed away at Meadowood Manor. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Beatrice; daughter Eleanor (John) Campbell; grandchildren, Stephen, Chris, Alyssa; sister Mona (Eric) Wheeler of Herefordshire, England; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents, James and Alice Dott; sisters, Ada and Ivy; and brother Malcolm. Jim was born and raised in the Norwood Community. He worked for Great-West Life for 46 years, retiring in 1974. He spent many enjoyable summer holidays at Pala Camp during his youth. Jim had a passion for sports throughout his life. He was an excellent athlete, active in hockey, rowing (Winnipeg Canoe Club), golfing (St. Boniface Golf Course) and curling (Pembina Curling Club). Jim was a caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Meadowood Manor for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 15 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jims memory to the Alzheimers Society of Winnipeg, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or to a charity of ones choice.
