Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANN HORBATY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Horbaty suddenly, but peacefully, at her home on Friday, July 12, 2002. Ann was born in Komarno, MB on May 2, 1933 to Mary and John Waricki, Ukrainian settlers. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Steve in 1979. Ann will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter Margaret (Mark) Bandera; grandson Paul; daughter Patricia (Brock) Mann; granddaughters, Emily and Madeline; sister Stella Kernested; and numerous relatives and friends. Ann was a kind, generous person who dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren as well as her cat, Zuzu. She was an avid gardener with a talent to make plants grow. Ann won many awards over the years at local horticultural shows for her prize-winning vegetables and flowers. Ann loved to cook and bake delicious foods including Ukrainian dishes. She was skilled at sewing clothing and enjoyed making crafts as gifts for her family and friends. In later years, Ann found pleasure in volunteering in the community. Her sense of humour and zest for life were inspiring in light of the many challenges she faced. A special mention to Anns nurses, Lisa and Ilonka, and her health care aides, who along with the Independent Living Resource Centre helped her live with dignity in her own home. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, July 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, Munroe and Brazier. Interment will follow in Libau East Cemetery. Donations may be made in Anns memory to the Independent Living Resource Centre, 311A-393 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 3H6.
