RAFFAELA MIELE Peacefully, on Thursday, July 11, 2002, at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Raffaela Miele passed away at the age of 72 years. Raffaela is survived by her husband Aniello Miele; daughter Maria (Pat) Falvo of Winnipeg; sons, Peter (Ann) Miele of Vancouver, and Steven (Kelly) Miele of Winnipeg; grand-children, Christina (Paul), Lisa, Melanie, Nicholas, Stefan, Michael, Leanne and Landen. Raffaela is also survived by two sisters, Carmela (Arcangelo), and Filomena; and two brothers, Giovanni (Rosa), and Guiseppe (Flavia), all in Italy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Raffaela was predeceased by her brother Arcangelo, mother Domenica, and father Stefano. Raffaela was born on July 16, 1929 in Camposano, Italy. She was married to Aniello Miele November 14, 1954. With three children, they came to Canada in 1967 and have lived in the Garden City area of Winnipeg since their arrival. Raffaela has always been a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her heart was always open to family, friends and strangers. Now it is her time to be welcomed home by God. She will be sadly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 15 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave., with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Pallbearers will be Peter Miele, Steven Miele, Saverio Miele, Pat Falvo, Paul Carvalho and Jason Cabral. The family would like to thank Dr. Wilson and all the nurses at the Seven Oaks Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion.
