STELLA MARGARET OGONOWSKI (nee BODNAR) June 14, 1917 - July 10, 2002 Peacefully, on July 10, 2002, at St. Boniface Hospital in the presence of her family, Stella was called by God and entered into eternal life. Stella was predeceased by her loving husband Walter, daughter Valerie, grandson Matthew, her parents John and Elizabeth, and many brothers and sisters. Stella leaves to mourn her passing daughters, Darcelene (Pat), Donna (Mark) son Grant (Margaret) sister Cora Charlebois of Regina; six grandchildren, Heather (Greg), Randine, Murray, Eldon (Monique), Ryan (Charlene), Jennifer (Keith) and five great-grandchildren, Aaron, Brandie, Brendan, Kaitlyn and Lauren. Stella was a seamstress and drycleaner by trade and for several years was the owner, manager of Park Cleaners and Tailors. She was better known, however, for her community work. Stellas spirit for volunteerism was recognized in 1974 when she was awarded the George S. Young Memorial Trophy for outstanding services to the community of Fort Garry. Always happiest driving the elderly to an appointment, organizing a CWL dinner, making sandwiches for a church event, caring for a foster child, helping at Holy Family Nursing Home or being the Rummage Sale Queen of St. Vital Parish, Stella gave generously of her time and skills for others. Prayers will be said on Sunday, July 14 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Garden Chapel at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, Pembina at Manahan. A friendship gathering will follow the prayers. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 15 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, Fr. Patrick Morand the celebrant. Interment at the St. Vital Roman Catholic Cemetery on Crescent Drive will be followed by a reception, also at the church. The family would like to thank the staff of Deer Lodge Centre and The Golden Links Lodge for their dedication and kind care, the ER, Reassessment teams and 5th floor medicine staff at St. Boniface Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Andrew McDermott, nurses, Tanya and Jeanette and special friend Ivy Harrison for all the kindness, compassion and help with moms care. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
