Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE OGRODNIK (JONATSCHICK) (born ROZALJA JAKOBI) Rose died in Victoria, BC on July 6, 2002. She was born on February 12, 1913 in the village of Podmanester, near the town of Bobrka, Poland, now Ukraine. She was one of four children born to Karl and Wilhelmina (Schmalenberg) Jakobi. She immigrated to Canada in September of 1930 with her cousin Elisabeth (Betty) Jakobi (Toronto, ON), and settled in Winnipeg, where she had relatives. She married John Jonatschick, Jr. in 1936 and had two children, Robert Eugene and Bonita Elizabeth (Bonnie). In 1959, she married Peter Ogrodnik and in 1980 they moved to Victoria to join her son and daughter. Mom made the best perogies. She loved to sew, embroider, knit, garden and travel. She enjoyed many travels with her daughter Bonnie, especially to Europe, China and Egypt. She leaves to mourn her son Robert (Carol) and daughter Bonnie Weber, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and a nephew in Germany. Private cremation followed by interment at Royal Oak Burial Park, to be laid to rest beside her husband, Peter. Flowers are gratefully declined. MCCALLS OF VICTORIA (250) 385-4465
