LUCILLE "LU" ROSS 1927 - 2002 On Wednesday, July 10, 2002 Lucille Ross, beloved wife of the late Gordon Ross, died at the Victoria Hospital. Lu is survived by her stepdaughters, Leslie Ross-Stewart (Bob Stewart), Carol-Ann Badiou (Ralph Schnell) grandchildren, Erin, Lindsay, Candis and Sara. Lu is also survived by her sisters, Rita Scorer, Aileen Fiddler and Patricia Scorer; as well as nieces and nephews. Lu was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Scorer, Marion Warren and Elizabeth Paulley. Lu began her nursing career in 1951. She subsequently specialized in Psychiatric Nursing and taught nursing at Red River College. During the early years of her retirement she enjoyed travelling, attending university, symphony and ballet and was an avid Blue Bomber fan. She and her husband found their greatest joy while spending time with their grandchildren. Lu was a compassionate caregiver to her husband during his extended illness with Parkinsons Disease. Most recently she enjoyed quiet times with her dog Laddie, watching television or reading. The family would like to sincerely thank Mrs. Margaret Harder for her care and kindness towards Lu and for being a wonderful neighbour. Also thanks to the home care aides of the WRHA and the doctors and nurses at the Victoria Hospital. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 13 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Childrens Hospital Foundation, CE501, 840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1.
