CHARLES BYRNAL WARREN Charles Byrnal Warren passed away July 10, 2002 at the Deer Lodge Centre. Born March 13, 1913 in Hafford, SK. He was predeceased by his loving wife Davina in April, 1992 and his daughter Elizabeth in January 1992. Also his parents, William and Gussie; his brother Les; and sisters, Jessie Pridmore and Patricia Lahey. He is survived by his daughters, Glenda (Neil) Penner and Joan (Ken) Smith. Grandchildren Jack (Brenda) Fryatt, Glen (Amanda) Fryatt, Ken (Catherine) Fryatt, Lynn (Mitch) Poitras, Laura (Terry) Curbishley, Vickie Prescott, Christine (Darcy) Rusnak, Brenda (Bill) McCall, Jeff Barnett, Marcie Barnett; and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Ted, Bruce (Helen) and sisters, Vera Franz, Anne Kendall, Doris (Bill) Pascal, Joyce (Don) Wood; plus many nieces, nephews and friends. Charlie served in the Princess Pats during the Second World War. He was injured in 1940 and spent most of the next year in Deer Lodge Hospital. Upon his recovery, he spent the next 25 years working for Underwood Co. as an accounting machine mechanic. Charlie and Dolly lived most of their lives in Winnipeg where they raised their girls. After retiring from Underwoods, they moved to Prince Albert, SK where they stayed for six years until the lure of their family brought them home to Winnipeg. Charlie was a member of Elmwood Legion No. 3 and the Fort Garry Army & Navy No. 60 where he enjoyed the comradeship of his many friends. Cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest with his beloved Dolly. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel in Deer Lodge Centre, 2nd floor, July 15 at 11:00 a.m. The family extends special thanks to the staff of the Deer Lodge Centre for their kindness and care.
