MARIA RYLE Peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2002, at the Lakeshore General Hospital, Maria Ryle (Omeara), aged 87 years and 11 months, passed away with family by her side. Former resident of Lake St. Martin, Fisher River Personal Care Home, Fisher River, Maples Personal Care Home, Winnipeg and Ashern Personal Care Home, Ashern. Maria was predeceased by her husband George on April 13, 1997, daughter Linda on March 25, 1997, son Gerald on November 2, 1977, daughter Josephine on December 13, 1972, son Dennis on May 22, 1964, daughter Marjorie in March 1947, her parents, Alex and Elizabeth Omeara; her sisters, Edith and Josephine Marsden; and her brothers, Allan and Willie Omeara. She is survived by her children, Ruth Beardy (Willie), William Ryle, Ernest Ryle, Montgomery Ryle (Marion), Margaret Pollock, Alex Ryle, Silas Ryle, Susan Ryle, Norman Ryle (Jean) and Michael Ryle; her 37 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; her nieces, Hazel Sumner, Roselyn Beardy, Alice Traverse and their families; her nephews, Alex Marsden, Samuel Marsden, Wilfred Marsden, Chief Jerry Marsden and their families, Jeffrey Omeara and Sherman Omeara; her brother-in-law William Marsden; and her pet and faithful companion Chester. Maria has many relatives in Lake St. Martin, Fairford, Little Saskatchewan, Fisher River and Winnipeg. She also leaves her friends Mary Ryle, Mary Stagg and Elizabeth Sinclair. Many of Grannies home made quilts, sewn by hand and machine are still used by her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She knitted thousands of socks and mitts, as time went by, for her children and grandchildren. Grannie sang or hummed gospel songs while she worked. She enjoyed doing jig saw puzzles until her eyesight failed her. Grannie loved the Name of Jesus so strongly that she would defend it to any length. Her belief and faith carried her through many trials and tribulations. Wake services will be held at the Fisher River Personal Care Home on Sunday, July 14 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Arnasons Funeral Home on Sunday, July 14 beginning at 10:30 p.m., and Lake St. Martin Faith Chapel on Monday, July 15 beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at the Lake St. Martin Faith Chapel with Pastor Norman Lacquette officiating. Interment to follow at the Lake St. Martin Cemetery. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Gordon Ryle, Clinton Beardy, Jason Ryle, Tom Beardy, Alex Ryle Jr., Louie Anderson, Brian Ryle and Jarvis Ryle. Cross bearer will be Nigel Ryle. Honorary pallbearers are the Staff of the Fisher River Care Home and Ashern Personal Care Home. Heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Care Unit at the Lakeshore General Hospital, Ashern, Dr. Marais and Dr. Berrow, Fisher River Personal Care Home, Percy E.
