HAROLD GEORGE STOKES Suddenly, on July 13, 2002, George Stokes passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital. George is survived by his wife Betty; his sons, Tom (Carol), Scott (Sheila) and his grandchildren, Mitchell (fiancee Sunila), Katrina and Stephanie; his brothers, Bill (Mary-Lou), Bob, Chuck (Lynn) his mother-in-law Katherine Provo; sister-in-law Beatrice Halwa (Neil) brother-in-law Donald Provo (Eileen) sister-in-law Susan Carroll (Robert) and sister-in-law Bev Provo; and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by the pets of the family, Jasmine and Rex. George worked for Canada Post for 34 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of ANAF Unit No. 1. He was a Past President of Civic Cale-donian Curling Club and a member of the M.C.A. Past Presidents. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 18 at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6, or The Heart of Stroke Foundation of Manitoba 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8. To Dad How fortunate you were our Father, Your inspiration and guidance will always be with us. You taught us right from wrong And how to enjoy every day to its fullest. You worked so hard to clothe and feed us, Asking so very little in return. You always had that special answer, story or joke that always touched our hearts. We will truly miss you, Dad.
