Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER DAVID WARD March 10, 1916 - July 13, 2002 In the early hours of July 13, 2002, while a patient at Swan Valley Hospital, our loving husband, father and grandfather quietly went home to be with his Lord and Saviour. Dad was born in Mikado, SK, and at a very young age moved with his parents to Hyas, SK where he farmed until 1949. During this time Dad spent three years as a student at Saskatoon Bible College. On May 23, 1948 he married Sonja Lysack, and the following year they moved to the Swan River Valley where they farmed in the Pretty Valley district. In 1984 they built and moved into their new home in the town of Swan River, where Dad was still able to reside, with the assistance of homecare, until his passing. Along with a much enjoyed farming career, Dad spent many years involved in various childrens Christian ministries, and up to his time of passing Grandpa never ceased to share his faith. At the time of his passing he was a member at First Baptist Church in Swan River. Dad was predeceased by his parents; niece Darlene Ostapuk; nephew Dr. Walter Konik; and brothers-in-law, Nick Konik and John Ostapuk. He is survived by his wife Sonja; daughters, Marlene (Ray) Remple of Winnipeg, and Carol (Dr. Lloyd) Martens of Altona; grandsons, Lawrence and Malcolm Remple of Winnipeg; sisters, Jenny Ostapuk of Canora, SK, and Polly Konik of Vegreville, AB; and their families. We extend a very special thank-you to Winnipeg and Swan Valley Ambulance Services, Grace Hospital Emergency and 2nd floor staff in Winnipeg, Dr. DuPlessis and staff at Swan Valley Hospital, and homecare services at Swan River. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19 at First Baptist Church, 5th Avenue North, Swan River. Interment to follow at the Swan River Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Dads memory to the Gideons, or a charity of their choice.
