HENRY EDWARD KING, CD January 17, 1932 - July 16, 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Henry King at Seven Oaks Hospital on July 16, 2002. Beloved husband of Margaret; devoted father to Dianne (Min), Craig (Karyl), and David (Cathy) and adoring grandfather to Rebekah, Christopher and Diandra Lee, and Daniel, Ryan and Jennifer King. Left to cherish his memory is June King and family, and Dennis Sichewski and family, along with many relatives and friends. Henry was predeceased by his father Popko in 1981, mother Ellen in 1990 and brother Donald in 2001. Henry was born in Winnipeg and lived his entire life happily in West Kildonan. He completed 30 dedicated years as a mechanic with the City of Winnipeg Public Works in 1991. Henry was extremely proud of his 27 years of service to Canada in 402 (City of Winnipeg) Air Reserve Squadron, where he rose to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He retired from the Air Force Reserve in 1983 and thereafter remained an active member of the Squadron Association. An extraordinary artisan and craftsman, Henrys work adorned the homes of his family and many friends. He will also be profoundly missed for his keen sense of humour, his exceptional kindness and his unselfish devotion to others. The family would like to express their gratitude to the City of Winnipeg Emergency Services, Rev. Tony Maunder and the Seven Oaks General Hospital Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit and Nursing Unit 1 staffs for their compassion and unflagging support. Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Kildonan United Church, 187 Kilbride Ave., with Rev. Tony Maunder officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Henrys memory to Kildonan United Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Western Canada Aviation Museum. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
